Here at Kearneys Gardens we love to share our know how by running interactive workshops. Our workshops are always fun and you get to enjoy an evening out and create your own masterpiece to take home. All our workshops are carried out in the Old Forge. Here at Kearneys Gardens we love to reuse, reduce and recycle so we encourage you to bring any planters that you already have to our planter workshops. However if you don’t have any you can feel free to purchase a new planter in store on the evening of the workshop. For our floral and christmas workshops we encourage you to bring a vase for your arrangement or some of your own decorations. We will of course have plenty to choose from on the evening if you would like to treat yourself to something new. Best of all everything purchased from our shop during the workshop will be discounted by 20%.
As part of the cover charge for the workshops we include some light refreshments and if you fancy a tipple on the night feel free to bring your own.
We host 3 different types of workshops.
Planter workshops:
Learn how to plant an outdoor planter for the season. We run these workshops throughout the year on selected dates for Spring planters, Summer Planters, Autumn planters and Christmas Planters. Dates will be announced on our upcoming workshop pages. There will be a large selection of seasonal plants available for you to try out and plant. Tommy will give his advice on planting techniques, planting composition and colour and form selection. All plants or pots used in the workshop will be discounted by 20%. Group workshops can be facilitated for groups of 5 or more at anytime of the year, just fill out the booking form and include the requested time and date and we will do our best to accommodate you. Tommy will reply by email or phone and arrange. In order to secure the date a 40% non refundable deposit will need to be paid in advance. Cost of workshop is €25 per person.
Floral workshops.
We have contemplated renaming these wine and design as there is no finer way to spend the evening than surrounded with flowers being creative and designing your own arrangement. Similar to the planter workshops we will provide some light refreshments and you can feel free to bring the wine, or any tipple of your choosing. For this workshop I would encourage you to bring your own vase for your arrangement. However if you don’t have anything suitable don’t worry we will aqua-wrap your creation before you leave. I would also say that if you have any flowers in your garden that you would like to include in your bouquet feel free to bring them along. I will have a selection of flowers and greenery available on the evening but if you happen to be perusing the flower aisle in your local supermarket and something catches your eye feel free to bring it along on the evening. Again everything used on the evening will be discounted by 20% along with some free greenery choices. The cost of this workshop is €40 per person. They are run at various times of the year. Dates will be announced on our upcoming workshop page, and are available at any time of the year for groups of 5 or more. You can book your own floral workshop by filling in our booking form and Tommy will be in contact as soon as possible. A non refundable booking deposit of 50% will be required to hold a date.
Christmas Workshops.
We run Christmas workshops for Wreaths, Swags, Table centrepieces, and planters. Details of these workshops will be announced in November.
